Nashville singer/songwriter Matthew Ryan's 2010 release Dear Lover gathered some exceptional praise when it came out. He's back for 2011 now with the follow-up full-length I Recall Standing As Though Nothing Could Fall. It's a weighty, atmospheric album, moody and slow and thickly layered with sonic textures. I'm getting more of a Joseph Arthur than a Jeff Tweedy vibe out of this one but you be the judge. You can stream the whole record at Ryan's Bandcamp, where it's also available as a $10 digital download. Or check out "Hey Kid" below.
